There seems to be a strong rumour out there that if you are a foreigner you cannot claim unemployment. The definition of identity document has in fact been changed to include valid foreign identity documents and passports. These foreign documents must be verified by the respective embassy’s of the applicants before unemployment insurance benefits may be paid out to them.
